The private-eye series by David M Pierce is now being released in electronic format and print on demand: Down in the Valley; Hear the Wind Blow, Dear*; Roses Love Sunshine; Angels in Heaven; Write Me a Letter and As She Rides By.

These books, first published in the ’80s and ’90s, went out of print but never out of style, just as the famous song whose lines inspired the titles.

*Hear the Wind Blow, Dear isn’t up yet (don’t ask why) but will be soon!
