Now, Spanish rights have just been acquired by Salamandra for their new graphic novel list, and Italian rights by Rizzoli/Lizard. Both after hard-fought auctions between confirmed foodies. We can’t wait to hear about Lucy’s favorite Spanish and Italian dishes!

Andersen Press acquires UK rights to FIRST LIGHT by Rebecca Stead
UK rights to FIRST LIGHT, Newberry Medal and Guardian Prize winner Rebecca Stead’s first book, have been acquired by Andersen Press, who already publish Rebecca’s other titles in the UK . FIRST LIGHT is available from Random House in the USA and Canada, from Text Publishing in Australia and New Zealand and from Moderna in Brazil.

After a hard-fought auction, French publishers Rue de Sèvres have won the right to publish the new book by Jillian and Mariko Tamaki, THIS ONE SUMMER. The bittersweet coming-of-age graphic novel by the Canadian cousins will be published in the US in May 2014 and will come out shortly thereafter in France.
Elsie Chapman’s DUALED finds a French home
French rights to dystopian YA novel, DUALED, and the sequel, DIVIDED, by Elsie Chapman (Steven Chudney Agency, USA) have just gone to Lumen, with DUALED to be published in Spring 2014.
