News about NO FRIEND BUT THE MOUNTAINS author Behrouz Boochani. As of 2 September 2019, Behrouz is off Manus Island and being held on Port Moresby.

His agent, Jane Novak, says:

“We expect that the detention centre/prison camp will be closed within a week or two with all remaining men being transferred to Port Moresby. There they will be processed for residency in PNG* or other countries. it is our sincere hope that Behrouz is granted a visa to New Zealand.

“After 6 years Behrouz was given less than two hours before being transferred so had no time to say goodbye to anyone on the island but at least he’s out of there.”
