THE YIELD by Tara June Winch (Penguin Books Australia) has won Australia’s most prestigious literary award, the Miles Franklin Award. This event is an incredible accomplishment and encourages, as the author said in her own words, ‘’the next generation of Indigenous voices, to know there is a space here for you in the industry, and in the minds and hearts of a new era of readers.’’

The judging panel described the book as “haunting and accomplished.’’ You can read more about the prize here. The French rights are sold to Gaia Editions.

This is the second year in a row that one of our clients has won the Miles Franklin! Last year’s winner was Melissa Lukashenko for TOO MUCH LIP (UQP), for which French rights are still available.
